The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) hereby advises the following serial numbers for Craig International Ballistics ballistic-resistant body armor model CIB-XP-IIIA have been permanently removed from the NIJ Compliant Products List due to unresolved safety concerns. The noncompliant serial numbers are identified in Attachment A of this notice.
Any armors with this model designation displaying any of these serial numbers should be replaced as soon as possible.
NIJ encourages law enforcement and corrections officers to continue to wear their body armor until it is replaced. Wearing armor that may have reduced effectiveness is better than not wearing any armor.
